I stumbled across an article entitled, “Broadband, Big Screen! Enlivening English Language Learning.” The article highlights different technology integration strategies used in a fourth grade class. Of the many ideas shared, one stood out above the rest only because it is a tool that I frequently use without realizing the educational advantage. Bob Moore, the teacher featured in the article, gives an example of how his class uses the Google Image Search as a visual dictionary. He asked his students to tell him what a microbe was. When no one answered his question, he instructed his students to find an image of a microbe using the Internet. Immediately his students were able to see and understand what he was talking about. This is an excellent way to integrate the use of this tool in your classroom.
